G
eorge Corley Wallace was an idiosyncracy on the political scene in May of 1972 when as Governor of Alabama, he set out to become President of the United States. This was the same man who had declared unapologetically to a national audience a few years prior, "Segregation today...segregation tomorrow...segregation forever."
Just a novice photographer in 1972 Sonia sniffed a particular brand of evil in the air and her gut instinct said to follow Wallace. With no official accreditation other than a letter of support from a publication, she made her way onto the press bus and followed the candidate through Michigan and Maryland.
